As president of trueU, an Indianapolis-based nonprofit organization, Kyle DeFur leads a movement of like-minded businesses that believe the talent war is real and the best way to thrive in this environment is to grow their greatest asset – their people.
An innovative, membership-based organization, trueU exists to create a community of leaders who learn from each other ways to create a culture that attracts, retains, and grows people who want to work for and are proud of their company.
In just three brief years, trueU has gained more than 50 member companies who have access to a proven platform of programs and resources to help all their employees be the best version of themselves at work, at home and in the community.
Having held executive leadership positions in hospital administration for over 25 year, Kyle’s background is uniquely poised to lead trueU. He most recently served for seven years as president of St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital, a 950-bed, $1.3 billion hospital organization in Indianapolis with more than 5,000 employees and 1,500 physicians.
During his tenure at St. Vincent Indianapolis, Kyle received a “Regent’s Award” for leadership and innovation from the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the hospital received recognition as one of “America’s Best Hospitals” by U.S. News and World Report and one of the “Top 50 Hospitals in the Country” by Becker’s Hospital Review.
Listen in as Kyle discusses trueU’s philosophy that “better leaders are proven to build better businesses, and better businesses are proven to build better communities.”
