“We believe that providing women with job and career opportunities enables them to take care of their children, their families and have a positive impact on the community at large.”
This week, Vicki and Kathy chat with Michelle Cirrocco, Chief Social Responsibility Officer at Televerde, about the company’s incredibly successful prison to workforce pipeline. Topics of discussion include: how Televerde was founded and its second chance employment process, the growing skills gap in America, how the company’s business model contributes to overall success, program expansion, how corporate America can help lower the recidivism rate, some impressive statistics and Michelle’s advice on how to use business as a force for good.

Who’s Taking Care in Community this week:
La’Toya Pitts of The Christamore House
As a child, La’Toya Pitts was involved in the educational and after school programs offered by the Christamore House and benefitted greatly from the nonprofit’s mission to empower the people of Haughville and the near Westside of Indianapolis to be self-sufficient and to create a safe and healthy community. Wanting to give back to the organization that gave so much to her, La’Toya brought her skill set back to The Christamore House and has helped expand the organization’s offerings to serve even more members of the Houghville community by serving as CEO. In September 2019, La’Toya won a large grant award to benefit the House from the Lilly Endowment that will continue to fuel the nonprofit’s vision.
La’Toya is tireless in her work to extend the mission of The Christamore House, and we thank her for taking care in her community.
