“It gives me a huge sense of pride knowing how committed and passionate our employees are.”
– Carole Puls, Roche“That’s why we love having great partners like Roche because they show up and then some.”
– Ashley Haynes, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful Inc.
Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. (KIB) is an environmental and community nonprofit local to Indianapolis dedicated to engaging communities to create vibrant public spaces that help people and nature thrive. Roche is a multinational healthcare company that provides pharmaceutical and diagnostic insights to help people around the world manage and improve their health conditions. Though these two organizations seem like polar opposites, they’ve formed an unlikely partnership that perfectly demonstrates the incredible impact a well-designed corporate social responsibility program can have both within a company and outside its walls.
Creating volunteer programs that engage the workforce while simultaneously fulfilling organizational sustainability and responsibility goals is no easy task. Vicki and Kathy talk with Ashley Haynes of KIB and Carole Puls of Roche Indianapolis to learn more about how KIB’s Custom Day of Service programming helps companies like Roche accomplish just that by creating projects that benefit both KIB and its business partners. Listen in to hear how Roche and KIB have maintained a successful and impactful partnership for the past decade and what their plans are to make the tenth year the best yet.
Who’s Taking Care in Community this week:
Jeri Warner of Trusted Mentors
Trusted Mentors connects trained, volunteer mentors with at-risk adults with the goal of helping them stay housed. The organization began 15 years ago and has grown to support over 200 mentoring relationships in 2019 thanks to their generous volunteers. When a mentoring relationship lasts over 90 days, over 90% of Trusted Mentors’ adults succeed at remaining housed and out of prison while in contact with their mentors.
As Trusted Mentors’ Founder and Executive Director, Jeri Warner plays an instrumental role in the amazing success the organization has achieved. With her direction, Trusted Mentors has grown from a demonstration project to an influential organization with three licensing agreements across Indiana.
