We have taken almost every conceivable step towards making The Rainforest Inn a place that costs the Earth very little.
Bill and Renée Humphrey combined their dreams to live in the El Yunque Rainforest and to manage a boutique hotel after purchasing a small hurricane-ravaged property in 1997. Hoping to one day share the natural majesty of the place with the world, they started building The Rainforest Inn, a romantic hideaway that showcases the best Puerto Rico has to offer. The Inn operates as sustainably as possible, is 100% vegetarian, and grows almost all of the gourmet food served to guests on-site.
We talk with Bill about the ongoing projects the Inn is undertaking to continue minimizing their environmental impact, and their partnership with WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms).
